'Towards A Dream in the USA' - Malick designed these Louis Vuitton shorts

Terrence Malick Short Film

What if Terrence Malick started doing commercials for companies instead of feature films? We now have a real answer to this question. A few months ago, a short promotional video for overpriced fashion brand Louis Vuitton titled Towards A Dream in the USA was released. It turns out it was shot by acclaimed American filmmaker Terrence Malick, who hasn't made a new feature film since last making A Hidden Life in 2019. It's not so good, but now we know who did this. "Actually shot about a year ago but released only this fall, the project reunited Malick with cinematographer Alexis Zabé (The Florida Project, Post Tenebras Lux), and uses a piece of Michael Nyman's moving score for em>The Piano." It's not an exciting movie - just a bunch of kids interacting with an ugly Louis Vuitton trunk. I hate this short - there's nothing unique or interesting about it, Malick apes his own style for money. And he uses children to sell us luxury luggage? This is so bad. But hey, it's a new Malick movie so we're releasing it anyway. Take a look.

To a dream in the United States
