Exorcism Horror 'Prey for the Devil' Trailer Starring Virginia Madsen

Prey for the Devil Trailer

"Be careful: once you know the devil, the devil knows you." Lionsgate has finally unveiled an official trailer for a horror movie titled Prey for the Devil, which is an update of the original title - The Devil's Light. This was originally supposed to come out in 2020, but was delayed for years during the pandemic until this fall. It now opens on October 28, this year's big Halloween horror offering. In response to a worldwide increase in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church is reopening exorcism schools to train priests in the rite of exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior stands: a young nun, Sister Ann. She prepares to perform an exorcism and comes face to face with a demonic force with mysterious ties to her past. The devil wants to come in. The cast includes Jacqueline Byers as Sister Ann, along with Colin Salmon, Christian Navarro, Nicholas Ralph, Ben Cross and Oscar-nominated Virginia Madsen. Will it be worth the wait after all this time? Or are they hoping audiences are still in desperate need of scarier horror in theaters this fall? Caution.

In response to a global increase in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church is reopening exorcism schools to train priests in the rite of exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield stands an unlikely warrior: a young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers). Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, a teacher (Colin Salmon) recognizes Sister Ann's gifts and agrees to train her. Pushed to the spiritual front line with her classmate, Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl (who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon who tormented his own mother years ago), and soon realizes that the devil has her where he wants her...and he wants in. Prey for the Devil , formerly known as The Devil's Light, is directed by German filmmaker Daniel Stamm, director of the films A Necessary Death, The Last Exorcism, and 13 Sins before. The screenplay is written by Robert Zappia, from a story by Robert Zappia & Todd R. Jones and Earl Richey Jones. After two years of pandemic delays, Lionsgate will finally debut Prey for the Devil in theaters exclusively starting October 28, 2022 this horror season.
