Twitch bans streaming of unlicensed gaming sites and will continue to allow poker and sports betting

Twitch said starting next month it will ban streaming from certain websites games that are not licensed in the United States or "other jurisdictions providing adequate consumer protection".

The decision of Amazon's live streaming platform, the most popular among creators games, comes after reports that a streamer called ItsSliker had scammed other Twitch creators out of hundreds of thousands of dollars to support "gaming addiction", as reported by the Verge.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Twitch announced that starting October 18, it will ban sites from live streaming which provide dice games, slots and roulette. He identified four sites that will be banned - Stake.com, Rollbit.com, Duelbits.com and Roobet.com - and said "we may identify more as we move forward".

However, Twitch said it would continue to allow streaming from sites that "focus on" poker, fantasy sports and sports betting.

"Game content on Twitch has been a big topic of discussion in the community, and something which we have been actively reviewing since our last policy update in this area," the streaming platform said. "Although we prohibit the sharing of referral links or codes to any sites that include slots , roulette or dice games, we have seen some people bend these rules and expose our community to potential harm."

In response to Twitch's gambling policy update, Pokimane - a popular creator on the platform who had urged the site to take action on the issue - replied, "LET'S GOOOOO
