The Times newspaper says that while rivals Turkey have signed all the necessary guarantees, the UK and Ireland are lagging behind.

The joint bid was submitted last month with 14 venues in five countries selected to host the matches.

Nine of the venues are in England, but Tottenham Hotspur's stadium is one of the sticking points due to naming rights

UEFA insists that only 'clean', unbranded stadiums can host European Championship matches. But Tottenham have been in talks with Google among a host of other companies.

Manchester City have apparently agreed to rename the Etihad Stadium as the City of Manchester Stadium for the duration of the proposed tournament to avoid a similar breach, while the Aviva Stadium in Dublin will be known as the Manchester City Stadium. Dublin.

An agreement has not yet been reached with Spurs who would work with UEFA to find "an acceptable solution".

The UK and Ireland should also meet safeguards regarding police, night flights and airports, and income tax exemptions.
