Uvalde police investigate shooting, two people injured, two suspects free

There was another shooting in Uvalde, Texas...with initial reports of at least two people injured and cops searching for several suspects.

The Uvalde Police Department issued a message late Thursday afternoon, saying, "Please AVOID the Uvalde Memorial Park area. The Uvalde Police Department is currently investigating a shooting with wounded victims."

CBS News correspondent Lilia Luciano has released a series of photos from the alleged crime scene showing an old Chevrolet sedan surrounded by police tape and some police cars.

Luciano reports two wounded who are being treated in a hospital. She says the cops are looking for two potential suspects.

From all perspectives, this appears to be an isolated incident...but of course any gun violence in the Uvalde community is both chilling and extremely sensitive.

It was in May when an 18-year-old gunman opened fire inside Robb Elementary, killing 19 students and two teachers. The community has been in turmoil with the police force and elected officials since then, given the sloppy police response, which saw officers do nothing to arrest the shooter for over an hour inside the building .
