Victoria actor Adrian Schiller dies aged 60

The Last Kingdom actor Adrian Schiller has died « suddenly" at the age of 60, his agent confirmed.

The British actor was best known for playing the wealthy ealdorman Aethelhelm in the historical series of Netflix's The Last Kingdom and steward Cornelius Penge in ITV's royal drama Victoria.

In a statement, his agent said: "His death has was sudden and unexpected and no further details are yet available.

"He died far too soon and we are devastated by this loss."

Schiller had recently appeared in the theater production The Lehman Trilogy in Australia and his agent said the actor "looked forward to continuing his international tour in San Francisco" .

Paying tribute on social networks, the outgoing director of the National Theater, Rufus Norris, said he was "deeply saddened and shocked" by the loss of 'a member of the company.

"Adrian was a wonderful actor, and the National Theater had the pleasure of working with him throughout his career ", he said.
