Viola Davis' Daughter Genesis Tennon Supports Her Mom At Awards Dinner

Viola Davis' family celebrated the actor's many accomplishments on December 11. Her husband, Julius Tennon, and daughter, Genesis Tennon, joined Davis at the Public Counsel's annual William O. Douglas awards dinner honoring "The Woman King star." and her friend Octavia Spencer presented Davis with the titular award in honor of her commitment to social causes.

For the red carpet event, 'The First Lady' actor looked stylish in a black halter dress with gold chain straps. Genesis posed alongside her in a purple crushed velvet dress, while Julius wore a smart burgundy suit with a printed tie. Although Genesis isn't often in the spotlight, the 12-year-old recently accompanied her mother to several events. In September 2022, she attended the world premiere of "The Woman King" with her parents and a pre-Emmys party with Davis in September 2021.

After wed in 2003, the couple adopted Genesis as a baby in 2011. Although she's only 12, the budding star has already made her big-screen debut — she was a voice actor for "The Angry Birds Movie 2" in 2019. Davis is also stepmother to Julius' two children from a previous relationship.
