A plot to assassinate Vladimir Putin on a Moscow bridge was reportedly "foiled by the Russian secret service".

The assassination attempt allegedly involved planting explosives on the bed of a river under a bridge over which the Russian autocrat's motorcade was supposed to pass.

The Federal Protective Service (FSO), responsible for protecting senior Russian officials, says it has improved a bid to blow up the bridge, according to Telegram channel VChK-OGPU.

A barge was suspected of planting explosives under an unnamed bridge before the assassination attempt.

Just yesterday, the warmonger was at Strong Ideas for New Time organized by the Russian Strategic Initiative Agency at the World Trade Center and since then videos have emerged showing security services near the Novoarbatsky Bridge in scouring the water.

According to the post on VChK-OGPU: "SFO was verifying information about preparations for an assassination attempt on Putin using explosives at the bottom of the Moskva River, dropped from a barge.< /p>

"A Federal Security Service duty officer reported a suspicious barge below deck."

Reports claim that divers were seen entering the water after the suspect barge was ordered to move, 'due to the movement of motorcades on deck', reports the Daily Star.< /p>
