Warsaw to get tourism boost after Prince William's visit

Warsaw should get a much-needed tourism boost after getting the Royal Seal of Prince William's approval.

The vibrant Polish capital, often overlooked by British tourists for its more popular neighbor Krakow, was visited by the Prince of Wales last month.

William visited the city a few weeks ago to thank Polish and British troops for their service during the Ukrainian conflict - and did a favor by inadvertently himself.

The future king delighted crowds when he was spotted posing for selfies, dining at an LGBT restaurant funky with staff and enjoying treats at the trendy Koszyki food market in the heart of the city.

Tourism officials, previously worried that crowds could avoid Poland due to its proximity to and involvement in the war in Ukraine, were encouraged by the visit and could increase the numbers. They hope this, together with a glitzy social media campaign launched last year, will show the world that Poland, and especially Warsaw, is very open for business.

The Prince of Wales was all smiles as he posed with royal fans outside the venue on the second day of his visit Royal fans and well-wishers waited patiently with signs before the prince's visit to the food hall
