The Foreign Secretary yesterday urged Hamas to accept the “generous” ceasefire program which was put on the table, amid pressure from Western leaders to end the fighting in Gaza.

Lord Cameron called on the militant group to accept a ceasefire during a speech at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. .

He said it “never pays” to be optimistic when it comes to pushing for an end to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, but insisted on whether the group should accept the proposed deal.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken previously spoke, saying Hamas had received an "extraordinarily generous" offer from the from Israel that it hoped it would accept it.

The UK wants to see an immediate pause in the fighting to get more aid in and the hostages out of Gaza, then progress towards a permanent and lasting ceasefire.
