Watch Dream Video of Jhené Aiko and the August 8 Astrology-Inspired "Water Sign"

Jhené Aiko and August 08 released a new song titled “Water Sign” on July 8, along with a dreamlike video that matches the hypnotic track perfectly. "Water Sign" is part of August's six-song EP, "Towards the Moon," which was also released on July 8. The EP is the second half of August's debut album, "Seasick." The first part, "Towards the Sun", was released in May.

Aiko, who looks stunning in glittery blue eyeshadow in the video, released her latest album, “Chilombo,” in 2020, blending R&B and sound healing on the record. She also performed "America the Beautiful" ahead of Super Bowl LVI in February. On July 3, Aiko confirmed that she was expecting a child with her longtime boyfriend, Big Sean. The baby will join her daughter, Namiko Love, born November 19, 2008.

Aiko also runs the Allel Sound label in collaboration with Def Jam. She announced that she had co-signed August on July 7, telling Variety, "August is an incredible writer, singer, and artist whose music speaks to me on so many levels. As a fellow Los Angeles native, I'm so proud from him. August ’s talent, love for songwriting and hands-on approach to his art is something I can relate to and have a lot of respect for. It was a natural evolution of our friendship and musical collaboration for him to become the first artist signed to Allel Sound. I couldn't be more excited to work with August."

“As a longtime fan of Jhené, I am truly honored by his belief in me as an artist,” August told the outlet. "She set the bar as an indie R&B artist from LA who wrote her own rules and didn't compromise to pursue her dreams. We really vibrate on music and creativity and I'm excited to be on this journey with her."
