'Wednesday' on Netflix: New Trailer Reveals Actor Uncle Fester and Christina Ricci's Character

This is Wednesday Addams' world, and we just live in it. Jenna Ortega takes on the beloved role in the new Netflix series Wednesday, which will be released on November 23rd. A full trailer was released during the show's New York Comic Con panel on October 8 and teased all the mayhem to come. Christina Ricci's character has finally been revealed, along with the actor playing Uncle Fester.

"Wednesday is currently a teenager, and we've never seen her as a teenager before," Jenna said in a statement. “His sarcastic, sarcastic remarks don't necessarily sound so charming when coming from someone who probably should know more than a 10-year-old girl. It was a balancing act. We didn't want her to look like every other teenage girl, but we didn't want her to be too ignorant either. And we've never seen her on screen so much. Every time you've seen Wednesday, she's been the understudy, the end of a joke, she always punches in, and I think that's what people really like about her. But in this show, every scene is Wednesday. There's an opportunity to give her a little more dimension, and she becomes a little more of a real person, which I don't think we've ever seen before."

Wednesday, like the rest of his creepy family members, was created by cartoonist Charles Addams for illustrations in The New Yorker, from the 1930s. The Addams Family has been adapted over the years into countless media projects, including the '90s movie franchise that featured Christina as Wednesday. For the 2019 animated film and its sequel, Wednesday was voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz.

The official trailer debuted at the show's New York Comic Con panel on October 8. See you at Nevermore Academy on Wednesday, and she couldn't be less thrilled. "I act like I don't care that people don't like me. Deep down…I really like it," she says. The show's Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen, is revealed in the trailer.

Wednesday feels there's "something wrong" with Nevermore. She swears that she "won't stop until I find the truth". Christina Ricci, who previously played on Wednesday, appears in the final moments of the trailer. She plays Mrs. Thornhill, who works at Nevermore Academy.
