Wesley Fofana appears to confirm Chelsea transfer with response to Gary Lineker comment

Leicester head coach Brendan Rodgers didn't want to lose Fofana. However, it became clear to the Northern Irishman last week that the centre-back was headed for the exit.

Fofana was left out of the Leicester squad that lost to Southampton last weekend and was subsequently left out of the squad that beat Stockport in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday. Rodgers said Fofana missed a team training session and was demoted to the club's U21 squad for the rest of the transfer window.

He is moving to Stamford Bridge at a time when head coach Thomas Tuchel needs defensive reinforcements. The Blues missed out on Jules Kounde to Barcelona earlier in the transfer window and have been chasing Fofana ever since.

Leicester have turned down three offers in recent weeks but a deal is now in place with the Blues set to pay an initial fee of £75million. Fofana had already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and an announcement now looks imminent.
