Labour leader Keir Starmer gave a landmark speech outlining his party's plans for government should they win the next general election.

< p>Sir Keir said his plan to lead the country had five main thrusts which he described as "long-term" "national missions".

These missions, he said , would be key to solving the "fundamental" problems facing Britain and giving the UK the confidence to move forward as a country.

They understand the growth of the economy, improving the NHS, tackling climate change and crime, and improving education standards.
