What it was like Jeff Daniel Phillips to step into Herman Munster's oversized boots for Munsters [Exclusive]

According to Phillips, Zombie first approached him about 12 years ago about playing Herman Munster. When he received this call, he had to stop his car because he was breathing heavily, probably with excitement and anxiety. When that iteration of the project flopped, it was comfortable until about three years ago when the movie started to become a reality. At that point, his nerves raced over whether he could pull off the role or not. Finally, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there have been three more delays. So by the time everyone arrived on set, the actor was more than prepared to take on this legendary role. Phillips said:

“By the time we were ready to shoot, I think everyone was ready. Everyone was hungry to do it. TV show when you try to jump on a moving train. That, we all sat down with for a long time and we were ready, I think. We all respect the show so much. We love the series. It's a love letter to the series. We're all fans, so we're excited to stream it and bring it to life."

In addition to their individual preparations, Phillips shared that the production had the luxury of rehearsing together for a month before the cameras rolled. Viewers will be able to see if all that hard work has paid off now that "The Musters" is streaming.
