Liz Truss could soon become the next prime minister, according to polls and bookies.

Despite a potentially damaging week culminating in the Sky News debate last night, the Foreign Secretary has every chance of winning the Tory leadership race against Rishi Sunak and succeeding Boris Johnson at No 10.

After calling Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon an 'attention seeker' this week, Truss has been pestered by debate host Kay Burley over her history of flip-flopping on issues like the monarchy and Brexit last night.

She has also clashed violently with former Chancellor of the Exchequer Sunak on economic policy since announcing she would run.
