Will Smith said he "reached out" to Chris Rock after he slapped him at the Oscars, but the comedian said he didn't was "not ready to talk".
The actor slapped Rock onstage at the Oscars in March, after the comedian made a joke about Smith's wife.
On Friday, Smith posted a video reflecting the slap - the first time he was seen discussing it - in which he reiterated his apology.
"Chris, I apologize. My behavior was unacceptable," he said.
"I I'm here whenever you're ready to talk."
Smith has previously only released written statements about the altercation. In the video, on his own YouTube channel, he answers questions that appear to have been written by fans.
He reads the questions himself, s speaking directly to the camera.

"J 've spent the last three months re-enacting and understanding the nuances and complexity of what happened in that moment," the actor said.
"I didn't think of the number of people injured at that time. . There's no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave at that time."
