A woman has given birth after taking a flight to Manchester.

Pregnant Nweke Ifeoma gave birth on the Turkish Airline flight from Istanbul shortly after takeoff at around 11:40 a.m. Monday.

The cabin crew attempted to take the Nigerian citizen to a more secluded part of the plane and asked over the loudspeaker if there was a doctor on board.

Fortunately, a doctor stepped in and, along with the flight attendants and stewardesses, helped deliver the tot to 33,000 feet.

The cabin crew cut the newborn's umbilical cord and the pilot diverted the plane to Vienna International Airport in Austria.

Paramedics met the new mom and her baby on the tarmac before taking them to the hospital.

Both were found to be healthy, although the baby's name and weight were not revealed.
