World Cup live: Cristiano Ronaldo tells full-time antics as England 'spy' on France

The 2022 World Cup is in the first of two rest days before the quarter-finals today, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of news from the team camps in Qatar to dive. There will be regular updates throughout the day as all eight nations prepare for their respective final eight clashes later this week.

Tuesday's round of 16 final turned heads when Morocco stunned tournament favorites Spain by eliminating them on penalties. Walid Regragui's side have now finished ahead of Croatia in Group F and have beaten Belgium and Spain while conceding just one goal en route to the quarter-finals.

Morocco's reward for the historic result is a meeting with Portugal, who discovered their mojo after Fernando Santos dropped Joao Cancelo and Cristiano Ronaldo against Switzerland. Goncalo Ramos' first World Cup hat-trick helped them to a 6-1 triumph, cementing their status as tournament contenders.
