Would you pay £1000 for a holiday snap? The Instagrammable "flying dress photo" is becoming a summer staple - and customers are flying overseas just to get the perfect picture to bring you happiness

It's a photo that is sure to increase Instagram likes: a clear blue sky backdrop, a look at the calm ocean and a colorful flowing dress blowing in the wind.

These images, known as "Flying Dress Photos", largely began on the picturesque Greek island of Santorini, with whitewashed buildings and sapphire sea providing the perfect backdrop for eye-catching dresses with huge trains.

But they have since become popular in other tourist spots, such as Hawaii, Dubai and Jamaica.

Looking like they could fit in a high-end fashion magazine, the images have become increasingly common, with several companies not offering more than "flying outfit photo shoots".

Speaking to FEMAIL, Stacey Williams, a photographer based on the island of Oahu, at Hawaii, launched her trend-focused business in April 2021, typically booking 12-15 photo shoots per month, costing clients from $800 (£622) plus tax.
