Samsung’s Galaxy S26 phones will gain the ability to use Apple AirDrop this week, allowing the company Galaxy Phones to directly share photos and files with iPhone And Mac computers.
Samsung is announcing the new feature on Sunday evening, which will need to be activated from the phone’s settings menu. The feature will arrive in an update to devices sometime this week, and when it does, the Quick Share settings menu will gain an Share with Apple devices to fall over.

The Share with Apple Devices option will appear in the Quick Share menu.
SamsungOnce enabled, the Galaxy phone’s Quick Share feature will be able to view Apple devices by opening the Quick Share menu, then send photos or files by selecting the device. For an iPhone to see the Galaxy phone, the device’s AirDrop settings must be set to Everyone.
It’s similar to how AirDrop compatibility works with Google’s Pixel 10 phoneswhich gained this feature in a software update last fall. Samsung says AirDrop compatibility will eventually come to more Galaxy phones and is starting with the S26 series.
Samsung says the addition of AirDrop compatibility is intended to contribute to the company’s ongoing efforts to make its phones work with other operating systems. And with Apple and Samsung often dominating lists of the world’s best-selling phones, the ability to share photos and media using AirDrop and QuickShare could quickly become ubiquitous. This could be especially true if Samsung eventually expands this feature to its line of cheaper phones, like the $200 Galaxy A17.
