Jared Vanderbilt Grosses Thunder players absent …With a nasty finger injury

Jared VanderbiltThe injury to his right pinky finger was so gruesome that Oklahoma City Thunder players looked simply horrified at the sight…with cameras capturing their stunned reactions in real time.
The Los Angeles Lakers player injured his finger while trying to block Thunder big man Chet Holmgren’s dunk midway through the second quarter… when his hand hit the backboard and knocked his finger backwards.

The pain was immediate…and Vanderbilt let out a cry of agony as he bent down and hid his hand.
As he left the field, OKC Jalen Williams — who did not play — and Jared McCain couldn’t hide their expressions… and the whole bench was completely in shock.

It turns out Vanderbilt needed stitches to treat his illness… because the bone in his finger broke the skin.
Lakers coach JJ Redick said he understood the seriousness of the incident because of Vanderbilt’s screams…and LeBron James added that his teammate’s reaction meant he was really going through it, because he’s “tough as nails.”
“If Vando was suffering, then something really happened,” James said. “So it sucks.”
The Thunder won the first game of the semifinal, 108-90.
