Now, sources say the couple has finally found balance as engagement rumors continue to intensify.
Kylie Jenner reportedly struggled with Timothée Chalamet’s need for space
Even though Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet have become one of Hollywood’s most high-profile celebrity couples, insiders say things haven’t always been easy between them.
According to sources who spoke to Daily MailJenner initially struggled with Chalamet’s independent lifestyle and demanding career schedule.
“Kylie has discovered the secret to their three-year relationship with Timothée,” a source explained. “She now lets him do whatever he wants. It was something that made her uncomfortable when they started getting serious. It caused friction between them.”
The source claimed Chalamet ended up speaking directly about his frustrations and how much time he needed for himself.
“She made him claustrophobic,” the insider claimed. “She wanted to be with him all the time. It wasn’t working for him. He’s a person who needs his space and she wasn’t giving it to him.”

The couple reportedly experienced their most difficult period towards the end of 2025, as Chalamet’s schedule became busier and busier.
At the time, the actor was filming “Dune: Part Three” overseas while promoting his sports drama “Marty Supreme.”
Sources claimed that the long distance and constant traveling would have intensified already ongoing problems in the relationship.
There were even reports last October claiming that Chalamet almost gave up on the romance due to disagreements around marriage and Jenner’s hopes that he would settle down early.
Fuel was added to the speculation after Chalamet appeared distant while discussing Jenner during a Vogue interview in December 2025.
