I admit that I had never heard of Kleva Range until recently when a colleague mentioned the brand. I was surprised by the sheer number of items available from Kleva, but my attention was drawn to its most reviewed – and highest rated – product, its Self-Draining Stick Vacuum.
The Kleva Krapof Auto Clean Self Empty Slim Power Vac is both a mouthful and a rather ironic name, but just looking at the reviews on Product Review (Australia’s largest consumer review site) for this vacuum makes me want to try it out myself.
Now, to be fair, a lot of these reviews are motivated, but I have seen many other 5 star reviews that appear to come from real buyers. They call it “excellent” and claim that “it took [them] by surprise”. The biggest problem was the lightness of the Krapof Auto Clean Slim Vac, followed by the convenience of the automatic drain.
For me, it was the spec sheet that did it. Kleva lists its suction power at 450AW, which beats the Samsung Bespoke Jet Ultra Elite’s 400AW, and even Dyson’s most powerful V16 Piston Animal falls short at 315AW. I would, however, recommend taking the high suction power with a pinch of salt, as overall performance depends on the airflow through the machine which, in turn, depends on the design of the vacuum cleaner and, in particular, its floor head.
Its specifications also point to the stick vacuum’s impressive weight of 2.4kg with the wand and floor head attached. In comparison, most of today’s cordless vacuums weigh over 3kg, including the self-draining Dreame Z50 station.
All of the cordless vacuums mentioned above are high-end models, costing well over AU$1,000. The Kleva, however, only costs AU$649. If that’s correct, the price and weight difference alone makes it a clear leader in its category, and based on user reviews, it’s surely worth considering if you’re in the market for a new vacuum cleaner.
Users have noted that the Krapof Auto Clean requires you to press a button to trigger the auto-empty process – which usually happens automatically the moment the stick is placed back into the dock on other vacuums of this type. But at this price, that’s not really a complaint.
I can’t wait to put these suction 450AWs to the test. We asked Kleva for a review unit, so stay tuned for our verdict on whether the Krapof Auto Clean delivers on its promises.
