The actress dismisses criticism of her fashion choice in court, insisting she was simply wearing what she had in her wardrobe and wouldn’t want her ex-husband to make her look bad.
Denise Richards has been in the fashion department for a while now, as she wore a lace romper with a removable tulle skirt to her wedding to ex-husband Aaron Phypers.

The media personality, in a recent Instagram video, shared with her many followers a glimpse of her morning getting ready routine ahead of another appearance in her ongoing divorce proceedings with Phypers.
Starting her day before sunrise, Richards joked about her appearance before explaining that the media attention surrounding the case had influenced the way she dressed for court. It’s no thanks to her ex-husband, who always makes sure the press is present in court, making her extremely conscious.
Richards said planning outfits for court unexpectedly became a stressful experience, as she admitted the whole subject of her leather outfits came up.
She modeled a subsequent outfit that included a fitted Gucci leather pencil skirt. The famous TV presenter said that the leather pencil skirt was neither unusual nor intimidating for her.
The actress also added that she doesn’t have many formal suits and hence it was difficult to wear in court compared to what others think.
To look the part, Richards wore the leather skirt, which also features Gucci’s signature horsebit details, with a fitted black long-sleeved bodysuit, all in her signature sleek style.

When the media personality got married in 2018, she did so with great fanfare, sparking conversations with her outfit choice, which was a huge departure from the traditional wedding dress.
She explained in an interview with PEOPLE that her choice was deliberate and since she already wore a dress for her first wedding, she opted for a unique and personal option for her second.
She consulted with designer Mark Zunino to bring her vision of the lace romper to life in less than 24 hours, and alongside the unconventional lace romper, she also added a removable tulle skirt, which she removed during a motorcycle ride with Phypers.
Reacting to the attention that followed Richards’ dress online, Zunino insisted that the actress’s vision was to create something she truly loved rather than pander to outside opinions.
Richards, however, remained unfazed by the criticism, pointing out that she stopped paying attention to online comments years ago. She insisted her outfit captured exactly the energy she wanted to present a look that was playful, confident, and appropriate for a Malibu beach wedding.

In March, The Blast reported that the reality star set the record straight following rumors of a significant change in her appearance.
In a subsequent interview with writer and editor Elizabeth Siegel for Allure, Richards admitted that she had undergone a full facelift eight months ago, but wanted to keep it a secret until her ex-husband, Phypers, maliciously made it public.
According to Richards, she had been focusing on healing and recently went in for a microneedling appointment to help improve the appearance of her scars when things were taking a turn for the worse.
She said a photographer showed up outside the date and her ex told them about the surgery, but it was botched; she vehemently disagreed with this.
Richards said she wondered whether to speak at length about the procedure and thought she could have kept it to herself. She then joked that people might have figured it out eventually anyway since the results are so good.
Denise Richards regained her confidence after corrective surgery
Before her facelift story, Richards first revealed that she experienced a scary but very painful incident on set while participating in the third season of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.”
Richards shared that during filming, one of her breast implants ruptured, requiring her to undergo corrective surgery again, as she had dealt with ruptured implants in the past.
Richards did not forget to recognize those who supported her during such a difficult time, like her surgeon and her friend Camille Grammer, who connected her with the surgeon and also supported her throughout the process.
She also shared part of her healing journey with fans, celebrating the results and expressing her eagerness to approach bikini season with renewed confidence. Richards added that she was happy to finally be able to speak honestly about life with implants and to publicly document this journey alongside Grammer.
