San Antonio Spurs Cowboy Bootin’ Knicks fans left Game 5!!! Tix canceled unless you are from Texas

Suddenly, a “No City Slickers” rule is in place for Game 5 of the NBA Finals… the San Antonio Spurs are snatching tickets from Knicks fans in hopes of seeing their team win its first chip in 53 years.
The message is loud and clear on the Ticketmaster page for Spurs tickets… anyone buying tickets for Saturday night’s crucial game will be blocked if you’re not in these neighborhoods. The current disclaimer reads: “Sales for this event will be limited to customers residing within 150 miles of the Frost Bank Center”…the Spurs’ arena.
Even if you are a foreigner and already have tickets, you also risk getting scammed. The Ticketmaster warning adds that rule violators will have their tickets “cancelled without notice”… but you’ll get a refund.

Obviously, the Spurs don’t want their home field invaded by loud and excited New York fans, willing to pay big bucks to attend the game. Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and the rest of the Knicks win the team’s first NBA championship since 1973. The NYers lead 3-1 in the best-of-7 series, so they can wrap it up tomorrow night.
So it’s pretty easy to understand why the Knicks faithful are scrambling to find last-minute plane tickets, hotels and game tickets…which cost at least $1,500 for nosebleeds and up to $10,000 for anything that falls on the floor. Knicks fans have already claimed 50% of the 5 seats for the game.
Ticketmaster claims to use customers’ credit card billing addresses to track strangers. It’s unclear how the Spurs would apply this in the secondary market, where disheartened Spurs ticket holders could look to make some easy money.
One thing is for sure… Knicks fans are going to be pissed. We have reached out to the Spurs and the NBA, but have yet to receive a response.
The Spurs’ efforts to block fans in the same way Victor Wembanyama blocks players’ shots follows San Antonio’s historic Game 4 loss. They led by 29 points before the Knicks staged the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history, winning 107-106…much to the joy of Taylor Swift, Timothée Chalamet, Mariska Hargitay And Spike Lee.
Forget the Alamo…San Antonio is all about sour grapes these days!
