“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Angie Katsanevas is experiencing a Greek tragedy as reports have confirmed that she and her husband, Shawn Trujillo, have separated after 27 years of marriage.
The Bravo reality star, who joined the iconic franchise as a full-time cast member in fall 2023, has spoken openly about her relationship with her hairstylist husband over the past few years, revealing that they have built a wonderful life together.
Now, it’s all coming to an end, as sources close to the couple revealed that Angie Katsanevas and Trujillo decided to part ways just as filming for the upcoming season wrapped.
Rumors about Katsanevas and Trujillo’s marriage ending made their way onto social media on Sunday, July 19. On Monday, Page Six revealed that multiple sources had confirmed the news, sharing that the couple, who married in 1999, were no longer together.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Katsanevas didn’t post about their 27th wedding anniversary on Instagram after congratulating her husband the year before. “Hair thing. #26YEARS,” she captioned a June 2025 Instagram post.
“Seems like yesterday I made a blow-dry appointment with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel at the grocery checkout. Long hair like Fabio, big muscles and known for being deadly with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory,” she concluded.
Angie Katsanevas and Trujillo faced cheating rumors in previous seasons
In Season 4 of “RHOSLC,” which aired in 2023, a major storyline focused on rumors that Trujillo was cheating on Katsanevas with men. Trujillo denied the allegations and defended her marriage to Bravo figurehead Andy Cohen on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”
“For me, it’s not a story about being gay; it’s a story about infidelity,” he said. “We love our gay community. We’ve been a part of it for 30 years now just because of what we do for our business. But I’m here to support Angie and I’ll roll with the punches.”
Angie Katsanevas and Trujillo had problems during the ‘wife swap’
Although the two denied the cheating rumors, they revealed that not everything was crystal clear during an episode of Bravo’s “Wife Swap.” In the limited series, Trujillo said he felt disconnected from Katsanevas, given that she tended to spend more time running the house than focusing on their bond.
“Angie, you know, when she’s giving instructions, you start to feel like maybe there’s some micromanagement going on,” he said. “Some people run on the treadmill. Others talk with their mouths.”
Katsanevas, however, argued that she did not want to become a micromanager, but found it easier to do things herself. “As the bossy Greek wife that I am, I find that sometimes Shawn doesn’t do things the way I like. So I go and do it myself. So I know it’s done right,” she said.
Trujillo wanted Katsanevas to spend more time with his family
As the episode continued, Trujillo admitted that he thought his wife had no “thrills,” adding that her inability to keep her hands away from everything was causing tension in their household.
“The struggle for her is just being able to sit together, spend time as a family,” he said. “For me, this is valuable time. I wish Angie would join us a little more. I hope that through this exchange, Angie can learn that it’s okay to relax.”
However, after spending time away, Katsanevas returned to her Utah mansion and said she realized she was missing the things that mattered most, like watching her 15-year-old daughter, Elektra, grow up before her eyes. “It’s the moments. It’s the memories,” she said.
Season 7 will feature emotional storylines
It’s unclear when Katsanevas and Trujillo actually separated, or whether the end of their marriage will be discussed in the upcoming season of “RHOSLC,” which will air in the coming months.
One storyline that has been confirmed, however, is that of Katsanevas’ friend Mary Cosby mourning the loss of her 23-year-old son Robert Jr.
According to The Blast, Cosby Jr. died in early 2026 after Utah police were called to a home about a potential drug overdose.
Cast member Lisa Barlow called the heartbreaking loss a “bonding moment” for the entire cast before revealing that viewers will see it all unfold in the next batch of episodes.
