Arsenal stretched an eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League after overtaking Tottenham with a 2-0 victory in the North London derby.

Mikel Arteta's side entered the game having received a boost from Manchester City's defeat to Manchester United the day before.

And, having beaten Spurs earlier in the season, Arsenal were in no mood to give their fierce rivals a chance for revenge.
