Donald Trump Matt Gaetz could face 86 years in criminal case against James Comey

Donald TrumpOG’s pick for attorney general last year could torpedo the case against the former FBI director. James Comeyall because Gaetz maybe he had Donald Trump’s number.

As we reported, the Justice Department accused Comey of threatening Trump by posting on his IG last May… “86 47,” captioned “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.” The DOJ says 86 poses a clear threat to kill the 47th president, Donald Trump.
Webster’s Dictionary defines 86 this way… “Eighty-six is slang meaning “to throw away,” “to get rid of,” or “refuse to serve.” » So there are several meanings of 86…even if you interpret “get rid of” as killing, there are other meanings.

Enter former Rep. Matt Gaetz, whom Donald Trump appointed attorney general last year. Gaetz withdrew in 2025 before a confirmation hearing could take place, but something he said the year before undermines the DOJ’s assertion that Comey clearly meant 86 as an assassination threat.
Gaetz wrote on X…
“We now have 86:
McCarthy [Former Speaker of the House]
McDaniel [Former RNC Chair]
McConnell [Former Senate Majority Leader]
Better days are ahead for the Republican Party. »
All three resigned or were ousted from office…so, as Webster’s says, they were either forced out or eliminated…and it had nothing to do with death threats.

Comey has other defenses…namely vindictive prosecution. Trump has long had Comey at the top of his list of targets. The DOJ filed additional charges against Comey last year, but they were dismissed.

And there’s this… Trump posted this video in 2024 from Joe Biden tied to the back of a van.
