The last few days have been full of product reveals. Not only did Apple recently announce the iPhone 17e, but Samsung revealed its full S26 smartphone lineup last week. While new phones naturally grab the headlines, my focus is firmly on the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro earbuds, as I’m the audio-obsessed member of TechRadar’s Australian team.
So imagine how excited I am to see that there’s already a 20% discount if you pre-order them before March 11, bringing their price down to AU$319.99. Not only is this a great deal on a recently announced product, but it’s much cheaper than Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 (which are currently marked down to AU$375 at Amazon).
Now, I’m going to be honest and say that as an iPhone user, my loyalty lies with the AirPods Pro, but after reading my colleague’s hands-on review of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro, the South Korean tech giant’s latest flagship earbud effort looks very promising.
As he notes, “there’s an audible change happening in the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro,” which has been aided by a new, larger speaker. Samsung claims this should increase bass, but as my colleague Tom discovered, “that doesn’t mean more bass, it means better bass.”
Noise cancellation also seems to be as solid as its predecessor, but Ambient (or transparent) mode may not be to everyone’s taste. Our hands-on review suggests it’s a little weak in that it lets in too much external noise, but I’d say that’s a good thing, because, in my opinion, the whole point of an Ambient mode is to let noise in.
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro also gets new features, including head gestures to answer or reject calls and live translation. Now it appears Samsung is taking a leaf from Apple’s book, as both features are already appearing in the AirPods Pro 2 and 3.
That being said, their Australian RRP is AU$30 lower than Apple’s – AU$399 compared to AU$429 for the AirPods – and with that 20% pre-order discount up for grabs, I have to say that makes Samsung’s offering quite affordable in the grand scheme of things.
You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro for AU$319 on Amazon or directly from Samsung, where the payment code BOUDS4YOU will be necessary to lower the price.
Alternatively, you can save AU$160 off their RRP at Vodafone and pay them over a repayment period of up to 36 months when you also have a Vodafone postpaid plan. Since Vodafone also has some of the best Samsung Galaxy S26 pre-order deals, it might pay to upgrade your entire setup.
