The Dallas Police Department held a news conference Monday and released dashcam footage showing what led to Diamon Mazairre RobinsonCrockett’s fatal encounter with law enforcement on March 11. Robinson had worked security for Crockett since 2023, when she began her first term in Congress as a representative from Texas.

In the footage, cops say Robinson was driving a car with stolen plates while leading Dallas Police officers on a chase that ended in a hospital parking lot. As you can see, Robinson is surrounded by officers ordering him to get out of his vehicle while telling him to drop his gun.

Robinson slowly emerges from the passenger side with his hands in the air… but then he grabs something around his waist. A cop yells, “Don’t reach! Don’t do it! Don’t do it!” The video then freezes before Robinson is dejected by the police.
Cops said Robinson had several felony warrants as well as a parole violation warrant for impersonating a police officer and possession of stolen license plates. Robinson also used several aliases, including “Mike King.”

Crockett released a statement Monday, saying his team was following all protocols outlined by the House of Representatives for contracting additional security. She said Robinson’s hiring was approved, but she knew him as Mike King.
She also said she was alarmed by Robinson’s ability to circumvent the congressional recruiting system and called on the U.S. Capitol Police to begin protecting members of Congress.
