A flurry of Arduino Cloud updates brings out the sun for makers
Arduino Cloud updates are like buses! They all come at once. But that makes it all the more exciting when we can tell you about the new things happening in Arduino's impressive SaaS system. So let's go ahead and take a look at tags, filters, blinks and galleries.
Label your things in IoT CloudA Thing in Arduino Cloud is a multifunctional entity. They are so easy to create that it becomes just as easy to forget all that a Thing can do for your project. So if you're like me, you're constantly creating new things for projects, functions, prototypes, experiments, and sometimes even just for fun.
This can mean that your cloud account can quickly become a bit saturated with these virtual devices. And this is where beacons come to the rescue.
Tags are the basis for providing metadata to your objects. You can add as many tags to a thing as you want, and each gets a custom value. In our example below, we've added a "Location" tag, demonstrating how you can filter multiple solutions that have been deployed in different locations. Objects are assigned the Location tag and values based on their location; New York and Rome, for example.
You can now edit the columns on your Things page to display your custom tags, then filter the list using the search bar, based on any of these metadata criteria.
It's a small feature that lives in the background, but provides essential functionality. Especially if you are a prolific creator!

We actually introduced models a while ago, focusing on the Oplà IoT kit. Since then, we've been working on extending the Arduino Cloud's model engine, so you can import an entire project with just a few clicks and get them working without the need for code.
