The travel agency Black Tomato has organized an extraordinary trip inspired by Agatha Christie's "Grand Tour". Visitors can do part of the trip or the full 40-night expedition, which is divided into three 'chapters'. The itinerary begins at Brown's Hotel in London where Agatha stayed before embarking on her odyssey Advertisement

At Brown's Hotel in Mayfair, there's a chill in the air. People come in and out of the lobby, distinguished ladies wait for friends, and an assortment of diverse relatives from different generations greet each other effusively.

On the ground floor Floor Drawing Room, you can watch all of these happenings from Table 9, tucked just inside the doorway. It's a scene hardly unchanged from the 1920s, when eagle-eyed author Agatha Christie often sat here to write and find inspiration for her chorus of characters.

And she not only based one of her novels, At Bertram's Hotel, on the timeless bolthole, but, drawn to its "cozy comfort" as she described it, she also stayed here before embarking on a ten-month tour around the globe in 1922.
