Netflix: Expanding In-Game Streamers Is a "Natural Extension"

Think Netflix and a memorable TV show or movie will probably come to mind.

What did you like the most? Squid game? The Bridgerton Chronicle? Strange things maybe?

Soon, the streaming service wants video games to compete for a spot on this list.

Netflix says games are a key part of its proposition to stay relevant to audiences in the years to come, and is slowly accelerating its plans to deliver more gaming experiences to subscribers.

Leanne Loom, Vice President of External Games at Netflix, told BBC News: "Games are one of the greatest forms of entertainment available today. so it's really just a natural extension for Netflix to include them as part of the subscription.

"The boundaries between the different ways in which we enjoy our entertainment fade. When you're in that moment and looking to sit down and watch a movie or be more active and play a game, we want to be sure we have something for you.

"Our goal is to provide a game on the service for everyone. Let's not focus on creating a great experience, but rather on a selection of titles that members can choose from to play."
