Amazon is hosting another Prime Day in October: Here's everything you need to know

Another Prime Day is coming. For the first time, Amazon is hosting a second two-day event that will see huge sales on everything from tech, apparel, food, books and more.

The event, which the retail giant is calling the "Prime Early Access Sale," will have place on October 1. 11-12. Like its summer Prime Day event, the deals will be exclusively available to Prime Day members.

If you want to take advantage of the limited-time sale, you must sign up for an , which currently costs 14 $.99/month. You can also register for a . Students and government aid recipients can also get a monthly subscription at 50% off.

This second Prime Day is one of many offers event experiences the company deployed since the pandemic. Since 2020, Amazon has had a clothing sale, a pet-focused campaign, and a day of fall beauty deals.

It is not yet clear if Amazon plans to hold more than one Prime Day each year , but it's part of a larger trend seen among retailers nationwide, which have rolled out fall deals events to compete with Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday. Although not marketed at such a time, the event will likely speed up holiday shopping which typically picks up in November.

The 48-hour shopping event won't go live until 12 p.m. on October 11, but we can expect the deals to cover much of the same categories as their summer event: speakers and soundbars, TVs and Amazon appliances, and housewares and cookware.
