A mum has said she spent just under £800 on one of her children for Christmas after buying her first present in June.

The mum, known as Annie, has been adding gifts to the stash above her wardrobe over the past six months and continues to add to the pile.

Legos, dolls, fancy dress, a trampoline and even a climbing wall are among the Christmas gifts she has collected so far for her three-year-old daughter.

The mum, from Queensland, Australia, bought the first gift at a June sale at Big W Toy Mania.

So far she has spent the colossal sum of £785 but said she had no regrets as she just wanted her children to have a 'very special day'.

Whenever Annie sees something interesting, she buys it, especially for her daughter since her son is only six weeks old.

"So I was surprised to realize that I had spent around £785 (AUD$1,400) on my daughter's Christmas presents," she said.

"But we were planning on buying the bigger items anyway, and I know she's going to love it."

Annie wants to make sure this Christmas is a magical time for her daughter as this is the first year she will be away from her family.

They usually spend Christmas Eve with Annie's in-laws when her daughter is allowed to open a present from her parents before bedtime.
