Angela Rayner says next Labor government will make misogyny a 'hate crime'

Labour Deputy Leader Angela Rayner has promised the next Labor government will make misogyny a “hate crime”.

Speaking at the annual Labor Women's Conference in Liverpool, the British politician began by saying: "Let's be real: it is sometimes tiring to be a woman in this world, especially under a Conservative government!"

Rayner then said that although he was difficult for poor women to find employment in the Palace of Westminster, the Labor government now has more women parliamentarians than men.

She added: "The Labor Party is the party of 'equality... We will make misogyny a hate crime.'
