Anthony Joshua goes into detective mode to try to unravel Oleksandr Usyk's game plan

Anthony Joshua has admitted to using a translator to better understand what Oleksandr Usyk's game plan will be on fight night. "AJ" watched Usyk's old fights and listened to corner advice with his Ukrainian speaking friend and feels he now has a better understanding of Usyk's team and his habits.

Speaking to , he said, "One thing he [Usyk] has been working on is his cardio. You see, when a fighter gets tired, that's what I noticed. I watched so many fights and I listened to his corner. I asked my mate from Ukraine to translate their information and what they told him.

"I understand they're trying to counter. They might take their foot off the gas. They might put their foot on the gas. I just expect a fight at the end of the day. If I I'm too busy with what he's doing, I'll forget what I have to do."

When asked how he would approach the rematch, Joshua replied, "Get my feet out of the mud, use my feet, get my heart rate up, use my attributes."

Joshua is now preparing for his twelfth consecutive world title fight on Saturday at the King Abdullah Sport City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In his last outing against Usyk, the Watford powerhouse was beaten on points as he lost the WBA (super), IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles.

Much has been said about the potential implications of a second loss to Usyk for the Briton, with many suggesting he will retire if he falls in defeat. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, meanwhile claimed that 'AJ' will fight again in December regardless of the outcome.
