On Monday afternoon, shortly after 3:00 p.m., a judge ruled that the schoolboy's life support system could be disabled after his family lost a last-ditch attempt to keep him alive.

Doctors had previously announced they would begin to halt treatment from midday on Tuesday, but since the application was filed they are awaiting Supreme Court instructions, giving the schoolboy more time .
