Arsenal fans shouldn't worry; the process will include selling a Saka or a Saliba

If Arsenal want to be like Liverpool, they have to sell like Liverpool did with Philippe Coutino. There is nothing to worry about.

The only mail we received on this Liverpool winA win, and played slightly better than the toilets.

I'll take that.Aidan, Lfc

It's all part of the processI understand John's fear of Arsenal's ability to retain top talent - and while I believe Saka, Martinelli, Saliba etc will all sign one more contract at Arsenal - they (and our other young stars) will not both sign two (or more) contracts. Accepting this reality allows us to do what is necessary on the right path.

Within the next 2-3 years, one of these bright young stars will be sold - and I think the process compels us to do so. I don't think Liverpool reach their heights without taking Coutinho. Arsenal will have to do the same - cash in on a star and reinvest not necessarily in a direct replacement, but where needed in the squad.

Much has been written about Arsenal giving away players for free. In my opinion, these were all (on the whole) the right things to do (and at least now we're finally learning how to include sales clauses). The mistakes of the past five years have been things like not selling AMN for 20m, or saying no to City's 50m for Sanchez only to trade him for Mikhataryan a few months later. Not wanting to sell expensive has cost Arsenal dearly in the past - I think fear has been an inhibitor.

So the next step in the process is to see if Arsenal can learn to sell a player at their maximum (or rising) value. Steve (Gooner) Australia

Enjoy this Arsenal squad, mateIn response to John Matrix AFC letter. My God, courage.

It's not better than today. Almost every player we have is fit, performing and rising in value. The club, the fans and the players are more connected than they probably have been since May 2006. The new songs are great. It clicks and it's fun again. Yes, it will still be shit in the future, but we've been in such a doldrums lately, just enjoy the moment for what it is and stop worrying. No, you can't enjoy this Man City sideNice article by Dave Tickner. Waiting for the one on the Qatar World Cup which undoubtedly fascinates and excites him when he marvels at the architectural majesty of the stadiums (built by slaves) and misses the number of those who are died during construction.

Or should we maybe stop helping sportswash despite how well their teams play football or how awesome their stadiums are?James Outram, Wirral(At least the golf authorities, the players and the media are making efforts)

Does Man City have the worst fans? I get the impression from reading this site's mailbox and many Youtube video comment sections over the past few days that Man City officially have the worst fans in the world. Barca fans have held this title for a long time due to their ridiculous sense of entitlement, bad sportsmanship and, more recently, their grave illusions about their club's financial situation. One thing I can say about Barca fans is that whatever their failures, it's not a moral issue, that's why they were kicked out of the top spot.

Dave Tickner has pointed out City's absurd excellence and I doubt anyone can deny that. No team Pep has ever been better to watch, his team Tiki-Taka Barca may have been ruthlessly efficient, but apart from the regular astounding goals they put you to sleep (even before the opposing defenders). Plus, it doesn't hurt for anyone to enjoy Haaland breaking records with ease, because it's fun and he's such a nice guy to boot.

City and their fans were very gracious, nobody other than Utd fans seemed to really have a problem with them, a neutral favorite you might say, but that has changed drastically in recent years. The problem with City fans isn't really as they claim success, awesome football and their enjoyment, you can't blame them for that. It's their inability to simply admit that their owners are the least bit terrible human beings.

They love to deflect and show how bad the Glazers are (and they're terrible owners), but using a club you don't care about as your personal piggy bank until you can sell it for billions isn't is not the same as being a dictator who violates human rights. City fans, however, do not see ...
