Arsenal impress Brentford head coach Frank who insists 'they must be title contenders'

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank thinks Arsenal 'must be title contenders' after picking up a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira returned the Gunners to the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal pass another test in style - this Gunners side are like no other

Mikel Arteta's side have won six of their first seven matches and earned a retaliation against Brentford after their disappointing loss in west London on the opening matchday of last season.

It was a historic day for Arsenal and for the Premier League in general after 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri became the competition's youngest ever player when he came off the bench late.

Frank wasn't too discouraged by the loss as he knows the Gunners are a 'top team'.

He admitted he "hates to lose", though.

"We lost 3-0 to the Premier League number one," the Brentford boss said. "I said before that they are a top team.

"I think we performed pretty well, not 10/10, but if you want to win or steal something from the team, you can't concede the first from a free kick and then the second.

"In general, unless it's an amazing set piece, I want us to avoid all goals from set pieces. There are a few pieces we could have done better for the second. They didn't create as many chances, but had quality in a few moments.

"We still want to play again but we have the international break, we are dealing with it and training with the players we have. I wish the players who are leaving good luck.

"We lost the game, I hate to lose.

"They're top of the table so you can't argue with that, they've been brilliant. Considering the quality, they must be title contenders.

"The third goal, we say a goal here can change the momentum of the game and bring the crowd forward with us, but they showed why this is a great club," added Frank.

“They lost their captain and replaced him with a £35million player who decided to fall back from 24 yards, so they showed their quality.

“From what I saw in all seven games I think they were very good and won evenly in six and the other game could have gone either way at Man United.

"[Gabriel] Jesus up there, wow what a player and I know it's nothing against [Manchester] City but sometimes it clicks in a different environment.

"[Bukayo] Saka and [Gabriel] Martinelli are a year older, [Martin] Odegaard what a player.

"So I have to say Saliba, he's going to be a full-fledged international player for France, I'm sure. He'll play in this team's starting line-up and he's a strong international team."< /p>
