Arsenal v Man City postponed to allow Gunners to face PSV in Europa League

Manchester City will no longer face Arsenal on October 19, after the Premier League game was postponed to allow the Gunners to play a Europa League game.

Arsenal were due to face PSV in their second Europa League group stage game on Thursday, but that match was canceled following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Thursday's game has been postponed due to "serious limitations in police resources and organizational issues related to the ongoing events surrounding the national mourning" of the UK's late monarch.

UEFA have now confirmed that the match at the Emirates Stadium will take place on October 20, Arsenal's home game against City - which was due to take place a day earlier - has been postponed by the Premier League.

In a statement, European football's governing body said: "UEFA would like to thank the Premier League and the clubs concerned for their flexibility and cooperation in the postponement of the UEFA Europa League match which had been postponed due to the impossibility for the police forces to guarantee its safe staging.”
