The Associated Press has fired the reporter who published the story that Russia fired missiles that killed two people in Poland.

James La Porta was removed from his post after being considered responsible for the Nov. 15 story that Russia carried out the missile attack, people told the AP with knowledge of the decision .

Mr. LaPorta, who had worked at AP since 2020, said, "I would like to comment on the file, but the AP has ordered me not to comment."
