This is the amazing moment a spy-themed superyacht dubbed '007' sank off the coast of Greece.

The ship was carrying five passengers when it ran aground near Kolona Bay on the island of Kythnos.

Coastguards quickly responded to a distress call and rescued the five people aboard the boat.

Shocking footage showed the superyacht capsizing after hitting rocks below the waterline, reports the Daily Star.

The British-flagged vessel is believed to be owned by a Swiss businessman.

It was only 45 meters from shore when it ran aground.

reports that the boat was misled by its GPS, but soon began to heel sharply to one side as water flooded the damaged area.

The incident happened on Friday (September 2) and the boat was almost completely sunk the following day.

Adorned with the logo of Ian Flemming's 007, the 10-person boat could also accommodate five crew members.

The sinister-looking ship had an aluminum frame and a steel hull, although this was not enough to prevent catastrophic rock damage.
