Barbarella kicks things off with Scott Adkins About ACCIDENT MAN: HITMAN'S HOLIDAY

Hello, my friends. Barbara here. If you're a martial arts fan, you probably know Scott Adkins who has not only worked alongside some of the biggest names in action cinema, but he's also demonstrated time and time again why he's among the best in the business. . His latest venture, ACCIDENT MAN: HITMAN'S HOLIDAY, which hits theaters and on VOD and digital on October 14, finds Mike Fallon's character in Malta sometime after the events that unfolded in the original film. This sequel proves to be more fun than its predecessor, thanks in large part to the hilariously disgruntled Siu-Ling, played perfectly by Sarah Chang. Naturally, Scott leads the cast, showcasing not only his batting skills, but also his sense of humor and willingness to self-depreciate. Visually more stylized than the original, this one is a fun movie with great action, so for those looking for something not too serious, this is an entertaining game.

I spoke with the talented and humorous Scott via zoom, and part of me wanted to throw any semblance of professionalism out the window and hit him for a martial arts lesson, but sanity and the a desire to continue having opportunities to speak with incredibly talented actors and filmmakers prevailed, and I refrained. Either way, check it out!

"Well, they have to be killed, right? You know what? It's very similar to the opening of the first movie. I won't go into details, but we changed the scenario at the last minute, it had to be.

You've worked with pretty much every big name in the martial arts scene. Who stands out the most, and what about working with that person made them stand out in your mind?

“I know these people, Barbara. I need to talk to them again. How can I isolate one and upset all the others? Yeah. that you idolize growing up as a kid who of course impact you the most when working with them. It's no secret that I was a huge Van Damme fan, so working with Van Damme, it was like, "Wow, that's crazy! And Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, meeting Sammo Hung. When you work with those guys you grew up watching as a kid , these are the ones that have the most impact on you."

"Well, I fell in love with the comic when I was fourteen, and I thought someone was going to make a movie out of it; I can't wait to watch it. Nobody has. ever done. Then I make waves in the business, I think to myself, I'm going to do the movie, so I managed to get the rights, and we wrote the script with Stu Small, a friend from school, one of my best buds. We got him to Sony; they did. He's a great character. Obviously what he does for a living means we can have many stories about the man rugged. I'd like to do more. It's perfect for a franchise, so bring them in. Hope the audience likes this one, and we might do another one."

It's fun. I love that Mike Fallon has his own kind of personal Cato in Siu-ling, and I love Sarah Chang in the role. Did you suggest her to the casting director or how did she get involved in the project?

“None of the assassins will go through the casting director, and the reason for that is that I have my finger on who is relevant in the martial arts film industry, because I want to work with people who can help me with the five sequences, not get in my way, if you know what I mean I know who's going to be able to do that, but that was the hardest part to play because it's specifically from a certain region of the world. She's a woman, she's a highly skilled martial artist and she also has to be able to act. As you can...
