Barbie director Greta Gerwig calls film's success 'very moving'

Greta Gerwig, the director of the hit film Barbie, has described the film's success as "very moving". .

The blockbuster follows the famous doll and her companion Ken traveling from Barbieland to the real world.

Gerwig, speaking at the London Film Festival, added that seeing the film be enjoyed by so many people had been "the most exciting thing."

The film earned $1.44 billion (£1.2 billion) at the box office, making her the most successful solo female director of all time.

The director was in conversation at the festival with Jesse Armstrong, co-creator of Peep Show and screenwriter of Succession.
