Belgium's Next Noa Lang: Three Stars

Noa Lang is one kind of commodity that lit up the league during his time with the Belgian champions. He formed dangerous partnerships with Bas Dost and Charles De Ketelaere and became unplayable in his time. I think he knew this season was himself 'closing the curtain' on his time in the Belgian Pro League, a totally underrated top division that has been dominated by Club Brugge in recent years. It was mainly Noa Lang, not the managers - Ivan Leko, Philippe Clement and more recently Alfred Schreuder - who stole the show and performed the key interventions on the way to another championship.

Noa Lang Belgium Pro League Club Bruggethe man of reference for me and for Club Brugge. A player who stepped up and made more than a living from a goal against Zenit St Petersburg a few seasons ago. I still think if you want to succeed in a bigger league you have to be the one to make the difference every week and not just once in a while. A huge example is Erling Håland who dominated Austria and took it to Europe with them, only to go wild in the Bundesliga. If he was a goal every 3-4 games typical player, is he progressing?

The same question applies to Charles. He took matters into his own hands and won another title, had documentaries made and yet remained incredibly humble. Almost the introverted equivalent of Noa Lang, but not quite as silky. What's even better is its versatility. It performs well...
