Crypto platform Bitcoin.com seeks to expand its ecosystem by introducing Bitcoin (BTC) holders to the world of decentralized finance (DeFi) and implementing new services such as a decentralized exchange (DEX) on its platform.

Speaking to Cointelegraph's Andrew Fenton during Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) 2022, Bitcoin.com Head of Financial Services Corbin Fraser said the company is moving from simply being associated with Bitcoin Cash ( BCH) to a DeFi platform that caters to crypto users across multiple chains. Fraser explained that:

"We have a lot of BTC users and a lot of those people want to do more with their crypto than just hold it. And they know there are opportunities in DeFi, but it's a bit complicated, a bit scary."

Because of this, Fraser added that his team is focused on working to ease the user experience and provide a more “user-friendly” crypto wallet. In addition to his DEX, the exec also highlighted plans to launch a prepaid debit card and launch a token sale.

With the debit card, the company plans to reward users for recharging and for their use. By seeing what people are spending their fiat money on, Fraser believes they have the opportunity to create compelling rewards campaigns. He explained that:

"Let's say the gas is through the roof, we could potentially go after that and say, okay, every time you fill your fuel tank with gas, we can add an extra 2% bounce in our verse token."

Fraser said it could be a way for his company to help users with their daily challenges. He said it would be their way of saying, "sorry, inflation sucks so much, but there's a little taste of it...
