Black Friday Online Sales Surpass $9 Billion in New Record: What Were Shoppers Buying? What's in store for Cyber Monday?
Despite high inflation and rising prices, consumer holiday buying sentiment is positive this year.
According to data from Adobe Analytics, consumers spent a record $9.12 billion on online purchases during Black Friday.
Analysis found online spending increased by 2.3% on Black Friday, and Cyber Monday is expected to be the biggest online shopping day of the season , generating $11.2 billion in spending.
"Cyber Monday will have the best deals on computers (27%), as well as furniture (11%). Those looking to buy a home appliance should consider waiting until through Thursday (December 1), when discounts are expected to peak at 18% on average," the report said.
Adobe said electronic items were a major contributor, with online sales jumping 221% on an average day in October.

The toy segment was another popular category for shoppers, up 285%, while purchases of exercise equipment rose 218%.
Other items in demand on Black Friday this year were game consoles, drones, Apple MacBooks, Dyson products and kid favorites like Fortnite, Roblox, Bluey, Funko Pop and Disney Encanto, the report says.
According to the report, mobile shopping accounted for 48% of all digital sales on Black Friday.
Canadian e-commerce company Shopify Inc SHOP has announced that its Black Friday sales reached a record $3.36 billion this year, up nearly 17% from to 2021.
Adobe data projects that overall spending this holiday season will increase 2.5% from a year ago.
