Boris Johnson responds to claim Covid patients were 'going to die soon anyway'

Boris Johnson did not deny wondering why his government was “destroying everything for people who will die soon anyway” during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

Testifying at the Covid investigation on Wednesday December 6, the former Prime Minister suggested the comment was not "designed for public release".

A memo from Mr Johnson's private secretary recorded comments from the former Conservative leader on March 19, 2020, saying he said: “Why are we destroying everything for people who will die soon anyway? Bed blockers."
